US Port Terminals – Peaceful Protest Hour Planned Tomorrow June 9th, 2020
The International Longshoreman’s Association (ILA) and US Maritime Alliance (USMX) have announced that all longshore labor and waterfront employers will honor the death of George Floyd with a peaceful protest hour at all ports from Maine to Texas on June 9th, 2020 from 12PM / Noon to 1PM. View the announcement on the USMX website here: https://usmx.com/.
During this time drivers will not be routed in or out of terminals; various terminals will communicate options for drivers (to remain on the terminal in appointed areas or leaving the site and returning afterwards). Please be aware of the potential impact on any pending deliveries to or from terminals on the US East Coast and Gulf tomorrow. We will continue to update if there are new developments tomorrow or if US West Coast ports will join in.
