Transport disruption results from truck driver union strike action that started March 14, 2022

The truck driver union strike that started last Monday has continued and now is estimated to impact 85% of transport in Spain. Strike action intensity varies by region, with some areas such as Madrid and Valencia seeing a lot of protest while limited activity has been possible near Barcelona.

New meetings are planned with the Ministry of Transport after measures last week did not end the strike action.  We will continue to update on the progress, but it appears it will take some time to reach a resolution.

In addition to the truck delays, there have been some temporary port closures due to weather conditions at Valencia and Barcelona that extended through the weekend and have impacted vessel port call schedules.

Continue to expect delays and for more information on any pending orders, please contact our shipping partner Hillebrand.
