North America
For port operations, intermodal and domestic, view the report here or at the bottom of this message. New York, Savannah, Los Angeles / Long Beach and Oakland are seeing the most delays for pickups of containers and equipment.
Quick Stats
According to Freightwaves, US top container ports saw a 27% year over year increase in TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) in the first half of 2021. They also cite that curent outbound volumes (for over-the-road transport) are 77% higher than 2020 and 59% higher than 2019.
Good news
For any members with shipments routing via Montreal, the port is operational again as of Monday May 3rd, 2021. Back-to-work legislation was passed to re-open the port. The backlog is roughly 10 vessels and 20,000 TEUs so prepare for delays in the coming weeks.
