Northern California Power Safety Shutoffs

In the interest of public safety during current high risk wildfire conditions, PG&E (Pacific Gas & Electric) has identified 21 out of California’s 58 counties where public safety power shutoffs (PSPS) are forecasted; mainly in areas of high wildfire risk.

The power shut offs would start as early as this evening 10/14/2020 and could last longer than 48 hours, depending on conditions and the time it takes to inspect / test transmission lines before restoring power.

Based on the current information from PG&E, this will not impact Hillebrand’s office and warehouse facilities in Benicia or Port of Oakland.

However the shutoffs could impact order pickups and deliveries at supplier premises in affected outage areas.  If facilities are closed, pending orders would need to be rescheduled until normal operations can resume.

A forecasted outage maps can be found on the PG&E website here https://pgealerts.alerts.pge.com/outages/map/?type=forecasted

Our shipping partner Hillebrand will work to reschedule loads to minimize the disruption wherever possible.  We also urge you to take precautions to protect temperature-sensitive orders with operating reefer or Hillebrand insulation.
