Port of Oakland – OICT Gate Fee to Increase July 6th, 2020
Citing an increased costs of labor wages in the past four years, SSA Marine / Oakland International Container Terminal (OICT) will increase the gate fee from $30 to $35 effective July 6, 2020. The gate fee was first implemented in June 2016. See official notification posted on the SSA site here.
Port Terminals continue to adjust hours / shifts
The Port of Oakland, like other West Coast ports, was the first to be impacted by reduced import volumes from China in the first quarter. In Seattle and in Southern California, port terminals shifted operating hours or reduced shifts in accordance to the lower volumes. As cancelled or “blank” sailings continue from Asia and now on all major shipping corridors, we are seeing other port terminals reduce shifts / hours in Florida, Savannah and Baltimore. See more details by port in the North American Shipping Update (4/15/2020) here.
