MSC and Hapag-Lloyd apply rate increase from South America to USA

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and Hapag Lloyd apply rate increases for NASA ocean freight contracts from South America to USA.  Please note the charges and effective dates as follows: 

Chilean Ports to US West Coast
​​​​​Effective May 13th, 2021 Hapag-Lloyd will increase rates by USD300 per container.

Effective May 15th, 2021 MSC will increase rates by USD1600 per 20′ Dry, and ​​USD1400 per 40′ Dry.

Chilean Ports to US East Coast / Gulf
Effective May 28th, 2021 MSC will increase rates by USD500 per container.

Argentina (Buenos Aires) to North America

Effective May 3rd, MSC increased rates by USD300 per 20’Dry, USD400 per 40’Dry and USD500 per 40′ reefer container.

NASA will continue to challenge and negotiate rate adjustments while minimizing the impact on vessel capacity for new bookings and equipment.  Please reach out to your Hillebrand representative for further information on your bookings and lead times from South America.
