EU will not double tariffs on American Whiskeys on June 1st, 2021

The U.S. and E.U. issued a joint statement on the start of discussions to address global steel and aluminum excess capacity and related tariffs.

In addition, the E.U. Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis announced on Twitter that it will temporarily “suspend the increase of its rebalancing measures on U.S. 232 steel and aluminum tariffs.”  For U.S. exporters of  American Whiskeys this means the tariff will not increase to 50% as of June 1st, 2021.

This news relates only to E.U. tariffs on US whiskeys as related to steel and aluminum trade disputes.  NASA is also active as part of the Toast not Tariffs Coalition, united in opposition to U.S., EU and UK tariffs on all beverage alcohol products.
