NASA Alert for Seattle: Carriers temporarily omit Seattle port calls from Europe
MSC to halt Seattle service from Europe
Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has temporarily halted new bookings from Europe for cargo going to Seattle due to the current congestion situation both at Seattle port and at the trans-shipment port Lazaro Cardenes. The carrier intends this measure will help them to evacuate cargo currently at the transshipment port before accepting new orders. This service adjustment is expected to last at least 3-4 weeks at minimum.
The Alliance AL5 Service to omit Seattle port
The operational network The Alliance (Hapag-Lloyd, ONE, Yang Ming and Hyundai) will temporarily omit Seattle port calls in its AL5 service starting in November, week 45 through 52. The original rotation (Seattle – Vancouver – Oakland – Panama) will be revised to (Vancouver – Oakland – Los Angeles – Panama)
We understand these changes will limit service options for customers and cargo going to the Pacific Northwest. Please reach out to your Hillebrand sales representative for alternative routings for Seattle-destined bookings.
