Cape Town Port outage, Spain trucking strike cancelled, LA/LB container dwell fee postponed
South Africa – Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) and Cape Town Multipurpose Terminals (Cape Terminals) have declared force majeure over a power outage. The power failure began at 7:30PM local time on December 20th and has since severely impacted terminal operations. They are working to provide backup power until it can be restored.
Spain – Agreement was reached to avoid the previously announced transport strike in Spain this week.
USA – Los Angeles and Long Beach ports have postponed the excess container dwell fee until further review on December 27, 2021.
