Booking delays on all ocean services from South Africa to USA

Services from South Africa to North America are suffering from severe congestion and equipment shortages.  As a result ocean carriers are modifying services or restricting bookings on all schedules.

For exports from South Africa to the USA, several carriers either do not provide service or are not accepting any bookings due to congestion on routings via Europe or Asia (OOCL, COSCO, ONE, CMA-CGM, Hapag).

Maersk has alerted shippers that due to ongoing delays on their AMEX services, there is no USA vessel space out of South Africa for the next eight weeks.  This applies to both contracted shippers and spot bookings.

MSC has also alerted shippers that the first available service from South Africa to North America will be in August 2022.
