Re: USWC Ports in Total Shutdown
Dear NASA Members:

Ports on the US West Coast will face a total shutdown today (Monday). The Pacific Maritime Association has not ordered any labor for today’s shifts, and is extending its weekend lockout of port labor after the ILWU initiated a series of work slowdowns last week.

The lockout will continue indefinitely, says the PMA, which added late last night, it was seeking the assistance of the Federal Mediation Service in the ongoing dispute on the West Coast.

Several shipping lines have already starting diverting ships away from their USWC destinations. JF Hillebrand is currently working on summarizing all pending shipments that may be affected. Please contact your local salesperson or customer service representative for further information.
