UPDATE - Italy – Transportation Strike January 23rd – 27th, 2012 has impacted road transport and port access

Despite only one union proceeding with the transportation strike from Monday January 23rd to Friday January 27th, 2012, they have disrupted truck traffic at regional tollgates and in major Italian ports such as Genova, La Spezia, Livorno, Napoli, and Salerno. There is no gate in / out activity at these ports right now. This can delay container pickups and deliveries to the port. Although they intend to strike through the 27th of January, there is a possibility that the government will intervene before then. We will keep you posted on developments.
