Germany – Rhine River Closure affecting Inland Transport

Be advised that the Rhine River has been closed to barge traffic in both directions following the TMS Waldhof barge accident and ongoing salvage operations. The closure is expected to last another 7 to 9 days. Any shipments normally routed via barge transport will have to be re-routed via road transport. For export shipments with DAT, DAP or DDP terms shippers may be subject to possible detention charges from the ocean carriers.
