Update on Fos sur Mer strike, Andes pass re-opened

France: Update on Fos sur Mer Strike

Dockworker's unions at Fos sur Mer have adjusted strike hours back to 3 hours of each 24 hour work period. The Eurofos Port Terminal (servicing APL, CMA-CGM, Hanjin, Hyundai, KLine, MOL, MSC, MISC, OOCL, UASC) is accepting new export containers again but congestion is still causing delays. Vessel schedules are also still affected.

Maersk and USAC have now announced congestion surcharges; see below list of surcharges to date:

  • Maersk will apply a congestion surcharge of USD 150 per TEU effective August 5th

  • CMA-CGM will apply a congestion surcharge of USD 75 per TEU effective August 20th

  • ZIM Lines will apply a congestion surcharge of USD 45 per TEU effective August 26th

  • USAC will apply a congestion surcharge of USD 75 per TEU effective August 28th

We will continue provide updates on further developments. For status on any pending orders check with your operations representative at 732-388-0101 or login to AXIS for further detail.

Argentina: Andes pass update

Winter weather conditions continue to cause delays in transit between Mendoza and Chile. The international tunnel has been re-opened on August 2nd but it takes a few days for trucks to resume regular schedules.
