Italy - Port Terminal Strike at Leghorn/Livorna:

An unexpected general strike was declared on March 16th by the main port terminal in Leghorn (Livorna). The terminal Darsena Toscana handles 90% of export and import traffic for Leghorn. Port authorities are working to reach an agreement with the labor organizations and as of today, March 17, the terminal is operating again. Delays and backlogs on normal vessel operations are to be expected and we will advise of any further developments.
