Date: Thursday, January 7, 2010 Re:  Shipping Alerts: France, Chile and Argentina France - Winter Weather Delays: Winter weather conditions are affecting road transport in France; heavy vehicle transit has been prohibited in some areas due to icy conditions. Le Havre port terminals have been temporarily closed and this will delay some loadings. Freezing temperatures are forecasted to continue through next week and JF Hillebrand France recommends Vinliner protection for any scheduled dry container loadings. Also be advised that the French dock workers union has scheduled a strike for next Monday, January 11, 2010. Chile Strike affecting Argentina consolidations and shipments via Chile: The ANFACH organization (Chilean customs employees) is currently on strike and no end date has been announced as yet. While this is having minimal impact on Chilean operations, any shipments cross-Andes from Argentina are disrupted as border trucks are not permitted transit in Chile per customs. This will delay Argentina consolidations and shipments via Chile.
