French Wine Imports: Certificates of Origin Not Required |
Certificates of Origin in the form of DCA 1, DCA2, DAA and DAC documents are no longer required to import French wines into the USA. Consequently JF Hillebrand France will no longer provide these certificates to importers and customs brokers.
However since the Industry Circular supporting this change in requirements also specifies that “…the final decision rests with the CBP official at the port of entry" we will keep these documents on file if you or your customs broker require them at the time of entry or at a later stage, and can provide you an email copy or the original upon request.
Please note this does not apply to French Cognac and Champagne, imported in bottles. These products still require certificate of origin documentation.
