Truckers / Stevedores Strike - Chile |
As of Monday, June 2nd, truckers and stevedores in Chile are on strike. Chilean truckers are on strike due to diesel rate increase, and stevedores at the port of San Antonio are requesting a salary increase.
Below is a synopsis of the shipping lines:
MAERSK - (SSL calls at San Antonio )
MV Olivia Maersk original ETA San Antonio on May 30 th . At this time, vessel is off shore. Maersk has not reached a decision yet regarding the schedule of this vessel.
MV Jeppesen Maersk, ETA San Antonio on June 6 th is on her SB voyage at this moment. Also, no decision has been taken. Maersk has not confirmed cut off and they are not receiving any new bookings for this vessel.
Maersk has informed us that they will not receive/confirm new bookings for next week's vessels until further notice.
They are also facing a backlog at Balboa and for this reason they will not accept bookings with T/S at this port (i.e. Australia , Asia , etc.) or with final destination Balboa.
CSAV/HALO/CMA-CGM/Hamburg Sud
Eurosal vessels which call Valparaiso port will maintain the original schedule. They will sail with the cargo that is at the port at this moment. Obviously, huge volume of roll overs as suppliers have not been able to pick the containers up or they have not been able to reach the port as no truckers available.
CSAV/CCNI (cargo to USA )
MV Cap Ortegal will not load export cargo. All cargoes have been rolled over to MV Alianca Shanghai, which is off shore at this moment.
MOL
MV MOL Valparaiso changed rotation. She called the south of Chile first and new ETA in Valparaiso is now June 8 th . Also expecting several roll overs.
NYK
Carrier has informed that MV NYK Clara (original ETA June 11) will not call Valparaíso. Cargoes have been rolled over to next vessel
MSC
The next vessels are the MV Kerry ETA Valparaiso on June 13 th and the MV Davos ETA Valparaiso on June 15 th . Stackings have not been confirmed yet.
