Re:

TACA BAF / CAF

In spite of the sustained high level of fuel prices, the TACA members are to maintain the suspension of the TACA BAF formula for a further 30 days. The current Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) will therefore be held unchanged through, at least, June 15, 2008 at the following levels:

Traffic to/from and via:

Atlantic/Gulf Coast Ports
$ 607 per 20ft container
$ 1214 per 40/45ft container
WM $61.00
Pacific Coast Ports
$ 911 per 20ft container
$ 1822 per 40/45ft container
WM $91.00

Based on the latest monitoring period, the continuing strength of major European currencies against the dollar will trigger an adjustment to the Currency Adjustment Factor (CAF), from 12% (twelve percent) to 15% (fifteen percent) effective May 16, 2008 through, at least, June 15, 2008

The TACA BAF and CAF to apply from June 16, 2008, will be announced no later than May 15, 2008. Such will be published in TACA’s relevant tariffs and on its website.

For and on behalf of the following TACA Parties:

Atlantic Container Line A.B.
Maersk Line
Mediterranean Shipping Co.
Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) Line
Orient Overseas Container Line
