Re:

Safmarine – U.S. Inland Fuel Surcharge

Received the below from Safmarine:

Effective: January 1, 2008

Please be advised that in response to changing fuel costs in the United States, Safmarine has revised the U.S. inland fuel surcharge to USD 165 per container from USD 140 per container. The surcharge will apply to all import and export cargo on a Safmarine bill of lading. This includes cargo to/from locations requiring rail, truck, or barge service.

The inland fuel surcharge will be adjusted on a quarterly basis according to average national fuel costs found in the DOE Highway Diesel Price Index. Utilizing this formula will ensure our inland transport charges are aligned with current U.S. fuel prices.

We apologize for the late advice.
