Received below from Hapag Lloyd regarding increase in US Inland Fuel Surcharge:

Please be advised that from September 3, 2007, the USA inland fuel surcharge will increase as follows:

Effective September 3, 2007, the inland fuel surcharge will be levied at 22%

This will apply to all cargo moving inland on a Carrier Haulage basis from a USA/Canadian port to a final destination within the USA. This will apply to all modes of transport, including, but not limited to, all road, rail and combined rail transport. The increase has been based upon the national average fuel cost published by the U.S. Department of Energy.
