HURRICANE RITA - GULF

Dear NASA Member:

Received the following the Evergreen:

Due to the approach of Hurricane Rita to the Houston, Texas, area:

  1. Imports to the area are embargoed at this point. Please expect delays and possible reroutings of shipments.
  2. Any Import shipments already in the Houston area, please assist by trying to remove them from all Ramps/Terminals.
  3. Any Export out must be returned to the ramps as soon as possible or held at origin. Ramps will be placing an embargo on all Exports on/before 6:00 PM, Thursday, September 22. No further containers should be attempted to be picked up at this time.
  4. This storm is expected to come ashore as a potential Category 5 storm. Please do take all steps possible to protect your cargo as well as our equipment.
