Re:

USSEC PRESS RELEASE - TRADE NOTICE

Dear NASA Member:

Westbound:

Further to the announcement of May 25th 2005, concerning USSEC’s general tariff rate increase programmes for 2005, the Conference now wishes to advise that USSEC will implement the following Westbound tariff rate increase, effective October 1st:

Dry Van and Temperature Controlled Containers:
Effective October 1st 2005:
$160 per 20ft container
$200 per 40/45ft container

Eastbound:

The USSEC parties wish to advise an Eastbound tariff rate increase to become effective October 1st, 2005 at the following levels:

Dry Van and Temperature Controlled Containers:
Effective October 1st 2005:
$200 per 20ft container
$250 per 40/45ft container

The above measures address increasing operating costs beyond the control of the carriers giving rise to the need for the implementation of a tariff rate increase to sustain the level of service demanded by exporters and importers.
