POSSIBLE PORT STRIKE - SOUTH AFRICA - UPDATE |
Dear NASA Member:
The SA Transport and Allied Workers’ Union has withdrawn threatened strike action until further notice. Satawu members were planning to strike next week over wage negotiations.
Sapo and NPA have revised their offer and are now almost meeting workers’ demands. National media officer, Ronnie Mamba said, “Our demand was 7% across the board and they have come to within .5% of that plus allowances, and we think we will settle. However, we are taking it to membership.”
Will keep you posted.Best regards,
North American Shippers Association (NASA)
