REVISION WOOD PACKING MATERIAL LEGISLATION |
Dear NASA Member:
It's amazing how quickly legislation can change. Not more than 2 hours after the Newsflash regarding Wood Packing Materials was sent today a revised ruling was published.
Fortunately it brings some good news to this situation and that is the final ruling is still intended to be published in June 2004, but full implementation is now not expected for 12 months, meaning full compliance by July 1, 2005.
We still encourage you to urge your suppliers to comply as quickly as possible. During the 12 months after publication it is still possible that containers are delayed entry because of non-compliance. Containers will not be denied entry, but an educational enforcement program will be in place.
If the situations changes we will be sure to update you accordingly.
Best Regards,
