Re:	Truckers Strike in Italy

Dear NASA Member:

As of yesterday, September 22, 2003, truckers unions servicing the ports of Leghorn (Livorno) La Spezia and Genoa have gone on strike. The strike has blocked the entrances of these ports along with some of the major roadways leading into them. From the information we have obtained it appears that this strike may last until the end of the week.

As a result of this strike the ability to pick up and load containers from the ports has been close to impossible which may leave many of the containers on the pier.

We will do our best to ensure that all steps are taken to safeguard your cargo while this strike is in place.
