TRADE EXPANDS WITH TEN 6,700-TEU SHIPS
Mediterranean Shipping Corporation will pay more than $60 million per ship.
The Geneva based company has ordered 10 ships of 6,700-TEU's each. Med Shipping's
Ships are 100 TEU's larger than Maersk Sealand's 6,600-TEU "S"
and "C" class ships, and will be 30 to 40 percent lower in intial
ordering cost. To speed up delivery the ships will be built in Korea with
the first ship finished by June 2001.
